This Weeks #VegasArtistSpotlight: Louder Than Words – 5 More Seconds (Let’s Go)
Louder Than Words is an American pop rock band from Las Vegas, NV formed in August
2015 and consisted of Christian VanBuskirk on rhythm guitar, Jonathan (Johnny) Buzzin on drums, and Trevor Kilpatrick on lead vocals. In September of 2015 Christian reached out to Spencer (Issy) Berry to help the band write and produce their first single Vixen. Soon after, Issy joined the band picking up lead guitar and backing vocals. In October 2015 the band’s first single ‘Vixen’ was recorded with Trevor on lead vocals and Issy on backing vocals. Prior to the release of ‘Vixen’, Trevor decided on another path and left the band which resulted in a new version of ‘Vixen’ being recorded with Issy on
lead vocals. The bands first single ‘Vixen’ was finally released in November of 2015 and with the release Louder Than Words announced Issy as their new frontman.
After their first release Louder Than Words quickly built a solid foundation for who they are as a band. As the band progressed there was a great need for a lead guitarist. Christian reached out to Esteban Ruelas, a member of his former band, to step in and play lead guitar for live shows. Later Esteban joined as a permanent part of the band, and in January 2015 they started writing for their first EP called ‘Letters & Lovers’ which was later released February 14, 2016.
Since the release of ‘Letters & Lovers’ EP Louder Than Words have been gaining a lot of local recognition. After only 2 shows they were chosen by the director of The Studio at the
Palms over 52 other bands to play Extreme Thing 2016 where they opened for popular acts such as Set It Off, State Champs, The Story So Far, The Maine, and Mayday Parade.
Currently the band is writing new music for a full length album that they intend to release later this year.
