This Weeks #VegasArtistSpotlight: Rockie Brown and Tanzer – In The Dark
“In The Dark” is the fifth single from Tanzer and Rockie Brown- this time, they turned in a rock song. “In The Dark” is James Bond-esque track with a signature piano riff and thematic lyrics that cry of love and loss. “After all, after all we’ve been down this road before, another go around, the curves that seem so familiar, and so– why me” Rockie delivers in verse one. This is a huge, sluggish, nu-metal production leap for Tanzer and another piece of music that sounds like it was commissioned for a major motion picture. Brown, yet again, has proven she has the depth, maturity and timbre that are only given to naturals. Let’s hope this is a new direction for the duo.
Mixing credits again go to Tanzer’s longtime friend and Juno Award recipient Dan Brodbeck, who won the 2010 Recording Engineer of the Year title for his work on the songs “Apple of My Eye” and “Be Careful” from Dolores O’Riordan’s album No Baggage.
